We have made contacts with the Armed Services and with servicemens families regarllng the welfare of the servicemen; we have worked tn coojie ration with the City In Water Safety programs and Issued twelve beginner swimmers, four advanced beginner swimmers, two Intermediate skimmers and seven senior life saving certificates to those who look advantage of the swimming program. The Chapter has several pairs of crutches, wheel chairs and a hospital tied that was mostly acquired with funds given to the Chapter on previous fund drives. This equtp-ne- nt has all been In use by different people of the area who had need of them for a short while. money Of the portion of collected on last years drive, went to the American lf National Red Cross; the remainder stayed wlttitheChapter for use In Its program. The Chapter contributed a portion of It to the National Chapter. This money was used to assist those who were In need of help as a result of Hurricane Agnes and the Rapid City flood. You can see that the funds collected are used for good purposes. The funds are mainly used to help those In need because of an emergency, contacting servicemen or their families and for lifesaving training.
