Show Letter To The Editor Valeta G. Larsen Paints Our 7 MILLARD COUNTY PROGRESS Fillmore, Utah I, LA DAY have to be completed before we can eeu we can all gei our own places In order, work on ourownhomesflrst, thengettogether In small groups and work on some public project. Pooling our talents can accomplish miracles as well as Impacting our own outlook toward each other. Tasks that seem Impossible to just a few, disappear when the right people get together. We had proof of this statement just this last week. The new officers of the Fillmore Garden Club had the program books to get ready for the meeting Thursday evening, and unless you have ever worked on this project, you cant realize just how much effort It takes to get the years programs ready for the members. The new officers had to contact everyone to make sure just how many memlers there will be and just who will lake part on the program as well as who will serve on each the sun will nst keep shining, we might be able to get the sl or eight Inch layer of Ice to sll le from the north and east sides of the roof of our house. No wonder the Swiss people build chalet type houses with their (leaked roofs, from which the snow slides off almost Immediately. Even tnongh we have big piles of snow on the north of our and crocuses In homes, we have snow-drobloom on the south of places which almost succeed in banishing the gloom of the long winter. We have noticed several pick-u- p trucks loaded with limbs drive by our house proving that 1 am not alone lr anting to Get up and at it. Certainly there will be much extra trimming to do this year as the more tender shrubs and small trees winter killed when the temperatures went below zero and stayed for such long periods. In spite of the long, unusually severe winter, we can all lie grateful to be living in such a choice spot, more or less removed from the sources of pollution which plague the large centers of population. We have clean air, pure water, a quiet tempo which Is free from the noise, hurry, bustle and pressures hich cause so many deaths from heart and lung aliments. M any others such as our Mayor Tom Wright and his wife Ardell, Mark and Nelda Paxton, Rov and Arlene Olpln and others who go to California to visit thetr children, agree with me that we enjoy visiting but Our Town Is the best place for a home. The Matthew Townsleys, who moved here from California and purchased the home of Crlssle Dixon, are among our very best booster as they enjoy each day as It comes no matter the weather. We have so many plans for projects which will help Improve our environment; however, the Installation of our sewer svstem will If our thirteenth President of the United States, ! painted the portrait Millard Fillmore. some time ago as an assignment.
