Ramp-to- n, Utah member and State Co chairman, and Stan Womer FeJeral Co chairman of the Four Corners Regional Commission. The funds were approved to help conserve water, Increase crop yields and bolster farm Income. The grant approved today will I'e made to the Meadow Irrigation and Canal Company and will be used to help line approximately 5,700 feet of Irrigation ditch. The water conservation resulting from this project should Increase net returns to the 70 farmers In the system by $50,000 according to company officials estimates. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Is making a $3,600 grant and th Meadow Irrigation and canal Company will provide $4,800 In local funds to complete the $12,000 total cost of the project. The Four Corners Region Is made up of 92 counties In Arlz., Colo., New Mex., and Utah.
