The bride Is the daughter of Floyd an Gama Grcgersen Nay. Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Vera) Smith also attended the nuptial events for their niece. They came on to Flowed and the family went' to Provo June 27th to attend a Grcgersen family reunion In one of the parks in Provo. w July Gre-gers- Delta. Present to meet with the Board were County Commissioners, Leigh Maxfleld, Ward Ktllpack, and Archie Christensen, Mayor Golden Wright of Fillmore, and Mayor Hatch Farnsworth of Delta, as well as principal Reid and Principal Fowles. It was decided that each would look over his budget and try to come up with an amount that could be used to operate the Center. The Board reviewed the action it had taken In releasing four teachers. Two of these teachers met with the Board. The cut In funding was discussed and school programs were reviewed. Though our local Board has for several years known that some of these funds would be cut, the State School Board did not vote to actually make a cut until June of this year. At this point the Board was forced to make cuts In the teaching staff. Conditions of the settlement were made in a joint statement by Superintendent Talmage Taylor, representing the Board od Education, and Mitch Myers, Chairman of the Negotiations contract The Committee. settlement Included a $250.00 Increase In the starting salary of teachers from $5,950.00 to 6,200.00, with the top salary on the M. S. lane going from $9,lo7. 00 to $9,bu0.00. In addition to the salary Increase, all teachers will be advanced one step on the salary schedule and the Board of Education will pay 100 of insurance coverage Instead of 75, thus making an overall Increase of 6.31. The administration group also received a comparable raise and benefits. The employees of the district, who were represented In negotiations by President Ned Bennett, will receive comparable types of raises and fringe benefits. The tire retailer is required by law to record the name and address of the person who buys each such tire, along with the new serial number. The manufacturer retains this information. The new serial number will appear on the sidew all of the tire, near the rim of the w heel. In other action, the Board accepted a bid for the sale of the A Frame cabin built by the Building Construction class at Delta High School, approved a salary Increase of 8.5 for school bus drivers, hired custodians for Fillmore Elementary School and MUlard Junior High School, adopted a teacher's salary schedule.
