William Mitchell, 79, 575 E. 4th N., Provo, who died Friday at the Utah Vailey Hospital, will be held Monday at 2 p.m.in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel of Provo, 8 E. Center, where friends may call tonight from 6 to 8o'clock and Mondayone hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Prove City Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born Nov.17, 1890, in Manassa, Colo., a son of James W. and Nancy Sprouse Mitchell. He married Beatrice Maeser on Sept. 23, 1914, in the Salt Lake Temple. Asa young child, Mr. Mitchell moved with his parents to Vernal where he received his early education. He graduated from Murdock Academy in Beaver and received his A.B. from Brigham Young University. For 44 years he taught school in Byron, Wyo.; Parowan, Wellington, Spring Canyon and in Provo at the Franklin and Farrer Schools. Heand his wife lived in Beaver after their marriage and had lived in Provo for the past 30 years. Mr. Mitchell wasa senior counselor for Utah Technical College, Sunday School teacher and superintendent in the LDS Church. He served as secretary and treasurer of the Provo Milk Control Board and was a charter member of the Provo Lions Club. His hobby was camping. Survivors include his widow, Provo; four daughters and three sons, Irene Mitchell, James M. Mitchell and Mrs. Thayne E. (Mary) Murray,all of Provo; Mrs. Nylon A.
