He was born in Buenos Aires, Argen- tina on April 24, 1916. Rafael married Angelica M. Romero in 1948. He immigrated to the United States with his wife and five boys in 1965. He was associated with the Salt Lake Police Department for 25 years. His family was his life, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Angelica; five boys, Rafael J. Shawna}, George, Gustavo asa), aniel and Walter; 15 grandchildren and 14 randson, eath. reat-grandchildren. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Anton (Tony) Grell Larson 1916 ~ 2003 PRICE - Blanche Moynier Nicholson, age 86, seg away December 18 2003, at her home. She was born June 8, 1917 in Price, Utah to Honore and Maria Blanchard Moynier. At the age of three, her mother died and she was raised by her Aunt Lea Moynier and Uncle Pierre Moynier. Blanche spent six years living on a farm in Alberta, Canada and after the death of her father she returned to Price in 1933 where she later eens from Carbon High On June 8, 1941, Blanche married Arthur Mace Nicholson in Price and he later died on January 16, 1995. Blanche enjoyed being in the mountains and fishing with her late husband. She was a loving mother with a hecrt of gold and her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by son, Arthur M. (Anita) Nicholson, Carbonville; daughter, Margaret (Michael) Heath, South Jordan; sister, Bertha Lyons, Roseville, CA; cousin, Paul (Mae) ees Price, six randchildren, 1 greatgrandchildren, many loving nieces, ane and dear nephew, Paul (Charlene) Dupin, of Price. She was born in Magna, Utah, to Mirriam and Alvin £. Scott. She raduated from Granite High School n 1936, then married Elwin M. Peterson in 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three sons, Ray of Salt Lake City; Rault Vivian) of Riverdale; and Randy Tori) of Sandy. She had nine grandchildren and 14 goegrane children, who survive her. Preceded in death by her husband. Mom and dad lovedto travel, camp and play golf with family and friends. She was a wonderful homemaker and seamstress and was adored by her many grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Mayberry Home in Clearfield, where mom lived the last two years of her life. They became like family to her. She will be dearly missed. Geraldine was born August 29, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frank Kenneth Gilroy and Emma Mary Edwards Gilroy. Geraldine graduated from East High School. She worked as a careiver both professionally and to her ae She was an avid Jazz fan. Geraldine was a loving, caring, gentle soul. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her parents. He was 97 years of age, having been born Jan. 2, 1906. le was educated at Stewart Training School on the University of Utah Campus, Stanford University, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California at Berkeley where he met and, on June 11, 1930, married Hazel Morgan Caldwell. ThomasIsaac Morgan 1912 ~ 2003 Thomas Isaac Morgan was born Nov. 20, 1912 to William Lancelot ~— and Annie Woods in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High School in June of 1930. During World War Il, Tom was in the service for seven years. He attended “UCLA and became & an Interior Designer but his heart was in the kitchen. He was the best Chef and he was well known for his holiday fruitcake and his heavenly piecrust, which we all enjoyed. Tom married Rosella Charmayne Burtoft, April 18, 1938 in St. Paul’s Cpiscopal Church. He attended services at The Church of the Resurrection in Centerville, Utah. Tom was a Master Mason. He became ag member of the Wasatch lodge #1 F&AM, Nov 20, 1942. He also was a member of the El Kalah Temple since April 14, 1950; El Kalah Oriental Band; the Scottish Rite (96th Class) since Nov 30, 1950, the Utah Grand Representatives Club of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the York Rite of Salt Lake ity. Tom was also a Post Watchman of Shepherds of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Past Patron of Lynds Chapter #1 OES. He died of natural causes complicated by Alzheimer's Disease. He was born August 16, 1915 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of Cyrus Orsen and Jensena Christena Nielsen Rasmussen. He married LaRue Fordham, July 15, 1936 in Thistle, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 10, 1968. Nad worked at many occupations as he supported his family - - shee herder, timber, custodian, Bicknell Town Marshall, Naughty Pine Café , Utah State Appraiser and Wayne County Assessor. Nad held many LDS Church positions in stakes and wards. He and his eternal companion, LaRue, served in the Micronesia Mission on the Island of vor He was Branch President there. is creativity gave many people happiness. His sagebrush tables and clocks decorate many homes throughout the area. Nad will always be remembered for the love and devotion he gave to mani friends and our Heavenly Father. His spirit dwells in many. Born February 4, 1922, Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joel Richards Wilcox and Eve F. Hix. Married Grace lL. Young on July 20, 1943 in It's not unusual for Leon Ritchie to leave his home at 4:05 a.m. he has been doing that every morning (seven days a week) for 68 years, but on December 17, 2003, he ‘left’ at the designated time, but this time it was not to deliver his thousand newspapers, but instead, to have a reunion with his parents and all of his brothers and sisters — some of whom he has not seen for over 70 years. Leon died peacefully, at the age of 89, with his wife of 66 years and many of his family by his side, following a bout with cancer, years of hard work, and maybe even a little age. (Maybe he was also dyslexic, as he always said he wanted to outlive his father, James, who died when he was almost — Leon married Elda Robbins, February 7, 1938, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and had two sons, Keith Leon (Vera Butler of Kamas) and James William (Carolyn Orton of St. George). He was very proud of his 14 grandchildren and ‘nearly’ 41 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents (James and Annie) and six brothers and sisters Clifford, Wilson, Stanley, Thelma rown, Ellen Rogers, and Venice ——s Leon’s 89 years were packed full: 68 years as the Salt Lake Tribune Distributor (probably a world recpt poultry farm and egg business, chicken hatchery, feed mill, motel, farm store, Lion’s Club #1 broom salesman, Chamber of Commerce officer, Highway 40 Association officer, Utah Motel Association officer, Heber Creeper Board member, church worker and volunteer extraordinaire. He and Elda served two LDS missions, one to South Dakota and another to the Philippines. He was a very dedicated Provo Temple worker for many years — he especially loved his volunteer time in the laundry. Ed, as he was known, began practicing law during the depression in 1929, helping people in need from losing their houses, land, and other assets. He was one of the founding members of the Utah State Bar in 1931 and, at the time of his passing, was one of the oldest living members of the Bar. He developed an interest in water law, became the third Assistant Attorney General in the state of Utah, and participated in the development of the water laws in the state of Utah. He later became a lawyer with the Bureau of Reclamation, Solicitors Office, where he was involved in several reclamation projects, in- cluding Glen Canyon Dam, the Colorado River Compact, and the Bear River Compact. In the late 1950s he left the federal government and established his legal practice with his father, J. D. Skeen. He was instrumental in the formation of the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District and served as outside counsel for several years thereafter. In 1982 he joined the firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwell & McCarthy and later retired at the age of 90 to devote more time to caring for his wife whom he adored. Rudolph Zaccaria "Rudy Zac" shoe repair business, learning skills he later used in World War II in the Panama Canal and Galapagos Islands. He was honorably discharged in Oct 1945 aha three years of duty in the United States Army. On June 11, 1948, he married Barbara Luella Jones, and on February 9, 1949 they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple. During their te early marriage they lived in the Bac- chus and Granger areas. They started a family in the Canyon Rim area of Salt Lake, and raised their children in Holladay. He was a skilled electrical mechanic who worked very hard to support his family. In 1983 Walt and Barb retired to Santa Clara, Utah, where they enjoyed wonderful and supportive friends, neighbors and ward members. He served as an ex traction missionary for the LDS church, translating German and other foreign language records. Because of his language ability, he once held the Stake record for the most translated documents in number). a month (over 700 in In 2000 Walt and Barb relocated to Salt Lake City to be near their children and grandchildren. Despite numerous challenges and hospitalizations since then, he was determined to be fit and active. After 87 years, his dedication to life was matched onl by the patience and dignity with which he faced his death. We will miss his quiet leadership and love. Our most sincere appreciation goes to the many individuals who cared for him, with a special thanks to Jeanette Holt, Hearts for Hospice and Terry Thatcher for their love, compassion and dedication. Eddie Thompson, age 25, passed away December 15, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utoh, after being ill with liver cancer for three months. Eddie was born July 29, 1978 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Marilyn Thompson and Edward Sims. He was a member of The Apostolic Church. He married April Marijke Doornbos on July 29, 2002 in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Eddie and April moved here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sept. 4, 2003. He had three goals in life: Move to Utah, be around for the birth of his daughter and turn his life around. He accomplished every goal. Eddie is survived by his loving wife, April M. City, UT, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 in Salt Lake City, UT. Erma was born March 22, 1940 in Benjamin, Utali to Loran Albert and Ruth Stewart Manwill. On June 15, 1934, she married Arnold Dee White, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away June 17, 200). Erma served in mony positions within the Church. She fulfilled a mission on Temple Squore and three full-time missions with her husband to Hawaii, California and Arizona. She was very talented in sewing, sculpting, painting, acting and writing children’s books, and used those talents to bless others. Erma and her husband enjoyed many years of ballroom dancing and directing tours to Mexico. Erma was de- voted to her family and was dearly loved by everyone. Survivors include her son, Edward (Dariene) White, Pork City, UT; daughter, Ruth (Norman) Egon, daughter, Cherie (David N.) Barnes, both of Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, Lee Manwill (Marilyn), Stewart Man- will (Jean), (Doug) and sisters, Beth Ruth Lowe McEwan (Clarence- deceased); 24 grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Preceded 68 in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Sat- urday, December 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Ward Chapel, 2930 South 2000 East, where friends may call Saturday morning, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
