Atissue is whether the Bush administration will uphold, weaken or scrap a Clinton-era ban on snowmobiling in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. The Park Service study discredited almost all of the data from snowmobile makers, as well as industry-friendly information provided by the states of Wyoming and Montana. “They aren't considering the new data,”hesaid. “That’s all it can mean to me.” Throughout its analysis of the data, the agency offered Conservation groups, many of which support the ban on “Surveyis not credible.” The study was to be released this week.A draft review of the report was obtained by The Associated Press.
