Their paths don't cross this sea- son, either, but the Hawks andTi- tans find themselvesin similar positions entering tonight's round of games. Both teams will be involved in the two most important games of the year, to date, in Utah 5-A and 4-A football. Alta and Olympus are both upstart teams in 1997, going in as medium-to-heavy underdogs against respected, tradition-rich programs. In 5-A, third-ranked Alta is at No. 1 Orem. In 4-A, second-ranked Olympus (4-A) entertains No. 1 Highland. The unspoken sentiment is that Olympus and Alta can gain loads of respect in tonight's games. However, coaches of the respective challengers are taking different approaches to the showdowns: WAt Alta, coaches arestressing the contest’s importance, saying the Hawksseason could be on the cessful off-track empires throughout NASCAR.
