There are people out there waiting to see the pretending witch, clown or favorite horror character For the effort there will be a reward Parents may lack enthusiasm for the adventure. The child's going elicits concern for safety. Parents, too, know that to keep a child from participating is to crush a would-b- e thespian. There Are Steps There are some steps parents can take to help make the night successful as well as safe for their pretenders. Help also is available. Energy costs and the price of food, clothing, rent, home care products and furnishings are spiraling. Sometimes, its the little things which add up And, its the little ways of saving energy and economizing that can help cut costs! One way to save energy and money is to read instructions on products. How can this help? Lets consider laundering and the information on a detergent package. Masks may be fun to try on, but are not safe to wear outside at night. Masks have a way of shifting on small faces, making already-poo- r visibility Makeup is the answer. Parents could have as much fun as children with the transformation. Salt Lake Costume Companys Susan Hansen has a full schedule of schools to visit between now and Halloween. As a public service, she sees youngsters at two schools a day in the Salt Lake area. She coaches the children in the fine art of creating clowns or vampires. Hansen demonstrates how to inflict gross wounds or grow beards on well and happy young-ster- s She admits to really enjoying it. A trip to Madison School offered evidence that makeup delights children as well. Cheers greeted a clown who was a kingergartener 15 minutes earlier. When a youngster grew a beard in less than 10 seconds, he got laughs. A graphic, bleeding wound applied to a well arm drew oohs and aahs. Makeup Artist H sen suggests anyone can be a makeup artist.
