Show TO THE GRUMBLER. Lon J. Haddock. Why not stop your everlasting grumbling at the boys? What if they do get out at times and make a little noise? Do you think God made a boy to sit up like a toy, And never sec, nor fed, nor taste, any of life's joys? I Don't tell again how very mily you I were when you were young. That you were the sweetest psalm of peace was ever sung. Jtfobody will believe you, you let your mind deceive you, Or else your better judgment is perverted per-verted by your tongue. Why boys ' arc always boys through all the world the same. And he's looked on as a "sissy" that stays out of the game. There's no harm in a racket, when there's manhood there to back it, And wholesome fun, and healthful recreation it its aim. Then stand .behind the boys, and you'll find' they'll stay by you. Whoever knew a boy worth anything to be untrue? If you make a boy your friend, He'll be yours right to the end, And God be thanked the "noisy" boys bcomc the men who "do." |
