Show Answer By Prof. Hogcnson, A. C. U. The best .kind of Eromc grass to plant for pasture on the dry foothills, foot-hills, near Brigham, is Bromus In-crmis. In-crmis. Seed at the rate of 18 or 20 pounds per acre in the spring of the year. Many people have good success suc-cess with the grass by sowing the seed upon the snow, just before it goes off in the spring. The seed will then sink into the wet soil and be covered sufficiently to grow. The surer way however, is to have your land plowed and the seed bed in good condition. As soon as the land is dry enough so that it can be gotten got-ten onto, Sithcr sow the seed broadcast broad-cast and' follow with a light harrow with the teeth sloping back, or sow with a drill as shallow as possible, watching all the time that the drill holes do not clog. One of the great reasons in failing to get a stand is that the seed is covered too dccpl. o |
