| Show SOCIETY NOTES last friday evening at the high school misses ina stratford and mil dred jenson jensen entertained at dinner in a most delig delightful fitful fashion the table was set in the cewin sewing loom on the third floor and covers were laid tor for eleven miss aliss jenson presided at the table and miss aliss stratford supervised the serving from the kitchen assisting miss aliss Strat stratford foid f in preparing the viands were the girls of the senior class and the waitresses at the table were misses hope fishburn and mirl anderson the menu consisted of the following turkish soup browned wafers roast oyster StUff scuffling ling potatoes on oil the half shell brown gravy sweet potato balls pea timbales Tim bales ripe olives cranberry jelly ilot hot pin rolls butter grape lee ice fruit salad cheese straws nut pudding queen sauce after dinner mints allots the guests were pres and mrs airs oleen N stohl bloh prof and mrs A al merrill bishop and mrs airs lorenzo N stohl supt bupt and mrs 11 II W valentine and mr air and mrs victor E madsen at the conclusion of the dinner the company repaired to the assembly room and listened to the senior class program 0 on wednesday evening of 0 last weela tile the fri ward choir had a Jolli flea tl if ii ibe ho purpose of getting a little do doser closer ser together and building up tile the social side aide of the organization the festivities were held in the relief society buil building dlag ilij the pleasures consisted in games music and partaking of delicious refreshments 3 there were about eighty persons present tuesday eveking the senior class of the high school gave a delightful social at the high school unique ganies games were ere played musical numbers were given and delicious refreshments were served the primary stake board met at mrs wilford reeders home tuesday afternoon to spend a few hours in an informal way and then enjoy each others society in a L social party part games ane social chat were indulged in and refreshments were served th the e ladies had a good time A genuine surprise was given mr ar 0 petersen last sunday morning the affair was arranged by his good wife assisted by miss aliss rose jones who resides with mr ali and mrs airs petersen it was presumed that miss jones desired to purchase a fine watch for her brothers christmas present and she secured th aid of mr air petersen in selecting the watch lie ile picka out a fine timepiece valued at about TOO and then let the matter drift from his hia mind it was brought forcibly to his memory again however as sunday was mr air petersons Peter sens birthday and in the morning by the arrangement of his wife mr johansen the jeweler called at the petersen residence and presented mr air petersen with the watch the surprise was complete mr air is a hard man to surprise but his boter half got the best of him this time last L ast evening a very successful social was given in the fourth ward meeting house in honor boiler of john W watkins who nho leaves this week for a mission to great britain A splendid program consisting of musical numbers readings and speeches was carried out and elder watkins was presented a purse to assist him on his journey tomorrow evening in the third ward meeting house a farewell social will le be tendered elders wilford reeder and WG Gidney who leaves saturday on their way to great britain Dri tain friends and the public generally are invited to be present |
