Show THE ALASKA YUKON PACIFIC EXPOSITION The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Exposi-tion is offering $63,500 in cash prizes on live stock and in addition to this many va'uablc cups, medals and diplomas di-plomas will be given. The premium- list together with the officials rules and regulations are now being sent to breeders throughout the United States and many entries haivc alrcadv been made, so that the management confidently expect this feature of the exposition to be, not only one of the largest but the very largest attrac- tion in point of general interest to bt a seen on the grounds. The live stock exhibit will open September 27th and close Octotcr 9th. The premium Hat is very comprehensive, offering valuable val-uable prizes- upon every class and character of the recognized breeds of live stock and of such number that every exhibitor wi'l stand a show n winning something. Liberal concessions conces-sions have also been made by the railroad companies whereby the stock shown at the exposition can be relumed re-lumed home free of charge. This branch of the exposition is under the management of cxpcricncd men who arc old-timers in the live stock exhibition business and every facility will be. furnished exhibitors to exploit the merits of their entries, and an absolutely square deal is promised every one in the matter of awards. The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition will play no favorites, Competent judges will be provided and awards will be made from the standpoint of merit alone. Entries' will close August 1. An official catalogue cata-logue will be published showing the number, name, herd registry number of each animal with the name and address of the breeder, also the rcgii-try rcgii-try number of the sire and dam; A medal, a. silver cup or a diploma awarded by the AlaskarYukon-Pu-cific Exposition in the live stock exhibit ex-hibit will mean quite as much to the breeder as a cash prize and yet these are not counted in the $03,501 offered as premiums. Importers' and bre'eders of live stock will be gratified to know that the ' management of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition are determined deter-mined to make their live stock show to be held September 27th to Octo r ! 1 tobcr 9th the most successful event of the kind ever pul'cd oft west ot the Rocky Mountains. While fruits, grains and grasses arc being largely exploited at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition along wit'i the mineral and forestry industries ' it must not be forgotten that the live stock show to be held -a little later on will be one of the biggest . features of the entire exposition. W1 U?hc Pacific Northwest is not slow in recognizing the value of pure-bred live stock as is evidenced by the fact that the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Expo-sition management is spending several sever-al thousand dorters in the erection jf barns, stalls and pens for the accommodation accom-modation of the monster live stock exhibit which the offer of $63,500 ip premiums will bring inside the gats from all parts of the United State, and Canada. The directors of the B. C. Live Stock Breeders' Association have voted vot-ed $500 in aid of exhibitors at the A. Y. P. Exposition to assist them in the matter of transportation. |
