Show Page 4 Clearfield Courier The Syracuse and West Point Stakes got together last Saturday for the annual FUNDAY celebration. The festivities began in the early morning hours with breakfast followed by a primary parade. The days activities from that point on were filled with enough fun, food and excitement to last a child for ad entire year (maybe several years for some of us slightly older participants. Contests, auctions, home baked goods, train rides, helium balloons (450 of them according to the balloon man), snowcones, fishponds, dunk tanks, jostling rides in the off-swagon, funhouse, baseball, hot dogs and apple pie, to name some of the fun activities. Everywhere you looked children were eating, laughing, talking and waiting their turn on a ride. "Have a happy Funday5' was a greeting heard many times as friends and neighbors from throughout the two communities crossed paths. Late afternoon saw many folks sporting a sunburn and several mothers contorting tired toddlers. But still they smiled...And still they ate.
