Show m vm The couples club of Our Saviors Lutheran Church held a New Years Eve party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glade Nielsen. The group enjoyed and games refreshements throughout the evening, and a dinner at 11 p.m. In the group were Mr. and Mrs.' John Engelking, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Freret, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Daily, Mr. and Mrs. Rod Widner, Mrs. Frances Burdick and Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen. Bill and Diane Hollein and family, of Boise, Idaho spent the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr .and. Mrs. Karl Pingree. Kenneth Allen, 70, of Riverdale, died Dec. 30 in a St. George hospital of a heart attack. He was the father of Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Reid of Roy. He was reared and educated in Ogden and had spent the winters in St. George for the past several years. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in Ogden. Marvin and Georgeanna Fisher spent a couple of days last week with his sister and her family in Utah County. A houseguest at the John Hertzke home for the holidays was an aunt of Mrs. Hertzke, Sister Mary Ber-chma- of Philadelphia, Pa. Sister Berchmans is principal of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School. CLEARFIELD COURIER, boys and two girls in their family. Brent and Donna Dobson have as their houseguests for the New Years weekend, Mrs.' Dobsons mother and sister from California. They came to get acquainted with the Dobsons new baby boy and to attend church with them when he was blessed. The Hertzkes took their guest to Park City and to Temple Square. This is only the second time in 40 years that she has left the convent for the holidays. Todd Smith had a party on New Years Eve at the home of his parents. They came to his home after attending a fireside. Six young couples were present. Larry Bazzell took three of his children to visit his parents in Reno, Nevada for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wursten entertained at a dinner party on New Years Day. The event honored the birthday of their daughter Peggy Fowers of Hooper. Guests included Blaine and Peggy Fowers and children Brian, Jeremy, Kevin and several days during the Kerry; Carl and Luana holidays. Jake Nelson, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nelson, spent three days last week in the hospital. He was treated for a severe cut he received in a fall at their home.. John N. Hamblin, 56, of Clearfield, died Dec. 30 at his home of pneumonia. Among the survivors are his mother, his Almeda Hamblin, brothers, Warren and Elden Hamblin, and a sister, Mrs. Allen (Dorothy) Clontz, all of Roy. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Syracuse cemetery. Dan and Shirley Clark took their family to California between Christmas and New Years. They took in all the fun including places Disheyland and Knotsberry Farm, and especially enjoyed the 70 degree weather there. John and Colleen Hess are parents of a baby girl born recently. They now have two Fowers and daughter Carol, all of Hooper and Allan and Tammy Wursten of Ogden. Wayne Smith has been in of Mrs. Palmer, Maynard Garfield, and Wayne Garfield, and their wives, were also among the guests. Apache Junction, Arizona to Oklahoma for the Christmas holidays to be with Mrs. father. Paskins They returned home last Stan- Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zondervon have a baby boy, born Dec. 26. He joins two sisters in the family. Eldon and Nancy Bair were hosts at a family dinner on New Years Day. There were about 18 people there. Jacqueline Jensen, of Wallace, Idaho spent the Christmas Holidays in Roy, with her parents, Post- to went family Satur- day. Mike and Nancy Watkins are proud parents of a baby boy, their first child. Herb Smith, of Denver, Colorado, was also a houseguests of the Jensens. Relief Society will begin again next Tueday, with the Spiritual Living lesson.
