There were many people of different faiths involved in study at the College and I found it a great experience, Riggs explained. I had to make my faith understandable to others in the world and that has helped me a great deal. After completing the four year program and a two year mission call in Hamilton Ontario, the pastor was ready for an assignment like the one he now has. "I have many goals that I want to accomplish. " he explained. I want to mobilize the missionary capabilities of the congregation. I also want to work with young families and include the youth more fully in our worship life. To help fulfill his goals the pastor has started a class called Word and Witness that meets every Sunday night at the church. We have a group of about a dozen right now in the class, he said. We are studying the great biblical themes and how to apply them in our lives. I hope to have the people feel more comfortable talking about the gospel message, so that they will be better prepared to explain it to others, he emphasized.' The pastor spends a great deal of his time visiting the sick and the lonely, who so desperately desire the human contact of someone who cares.
