Here are a few simple facts to remember, Mr. Hand explained: 1. Dont shoot until you are sure. 2. Miss a deer and save a life. 3. Do not carry loaded gun in the car, or around camp. Get on the range before you put ammunition and gun together. 4. Do not mix alcohol and gun powder. It is unfair to the other sportsmen. 5. The ranges are dry. Avoid fires by being careful around Camp. Take a little time and effort in putting out the fires. 6. Save your time and that of your friends toy orienting yourselves upon entering your hunting territory. It is easy to get lost. Mr. Hand also appealed to sportsmen to respect private and public property alike. Treat a mans property so he will be pleased to have you hunt again next year. Talk to the. landowners. Show them you are interested. Let them know you are responsible. It is through their courtesy that Utah hunters are able to use as much land as they do. And remember that its a criminal misdemeanor to hunt on posted property, the chief deputy said. Mr. Hand also warned hunters to check in and out of stations which are set up in the areas they hunt. This is required by law. Dead deer should be tagged immediately, and hunters carrying either - sex permits should be careful not to shoot at fawns as most of these wall be next years buck crop, he explained. Utah will have more regular and special game wardens afield than ever before to handle the law breakers, Hand stated. Guns will be taken, fines may be heavy, and the" State may see fit to confiscate the trulcks, autos, jeeps, or wagons, if the facts warrant it. The State Will also set up blockades, special checks and do everything possible to keep the hunt clean, and within the law, Hand said. Prior to the war he served with choir Beautiful Land.
