Maughan was chosen as Bishop and served without counselors until June 5, 1877 when Evan Owens and John Mark Hendry were sustained as counsel rs. Peter Maughan was called to preside over all of Cache Valley. The Sunday School was organized November 27, 1859 with James' R. Hawkins as superintendent and Henry Standago and The John Kay as counselors YLMIA was organized June 4, 1875 with Mary M. Howell as president and Martha Eckersley and Martha Woodward as counselors. The YMMIA was organized July 13 1876 with John B. Hill as president and Ellis D. Salisbury and James Spence as Counselors.
