The Single Swingers Square Dance Club of Ogden, Is sponsoring a beginners square dame cluss starling Thursday, September 14 at the Wilson lane Square Dame Hall. Under the direction of a qualified caller, anyone who can walk can learn to square dance. Thej fun starts with the very first beginners class. Over 100 single persons are now associated with the club which will be sponsoring the square dance class. The club, organized in 1jH5, is affiliated with the Ogden Area Square Dance Association. The club participates in numerous f throughout Utah and neighboring states. L SQUARE DANCING is good clean recreation with the accent on doing, not just watching. Many square dancers who feel tired from the stresses of the day when they arrive at the dance, actually report that they are relaxed and less tired when the dance is over. Square dancing is a nationwide organized past time of today, callers in New England, the South, the Middle West, and in our own Utah all speak the same language, and use the same calls. Joe Garcia, a graduate of Davis High School, will portray Ishi and a movie about the last wild Indian in northern California. He had never acted before auditioning for the part, although he had performed as a singer and dancer with the BYU BYU Drama Dept, and said he was looking for a 22 year old Indian who could pass for and who had a sensitive personality, Garcia was urged to audition. When Joe was a junior and senior in high school, he lived in Kaysville with Wendell and Louise Hess, who were his foster parents in the Indian Placement Program for the LDS Church. 16 MRS.
