Show WEEKLY REFLEX DAVIS NEWS JOURNAL. AUGUST 24. 1978 V Wool Growers To Vote 3 Wool and lamb producers Bountiful will vote from August 21 through September 1, in a referendum to decide if they of a new agreement between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the American Sheep Producers Council, Inc. approve or disapprove Strong Contender By DAVE WIGHAM school since he came Rob Cottle is a junior running back that is built solid and low to the ground while Corry Hilton is a hard nosed junior who isnt afraid to run - BOUNTIFUL With a squad back that has lost only one bail game over a two year period the Bountiful High football team should be looking for a region title There is no question that this group of seniors have some THE AGREEMENT provides for USDA to withhold part of any wool incentive payments that might be made to producers on the 1978-8marketings to finance advertising and sales promotion programs, to develop and disseminate information on product quality, production management, and marketing improvement for wool and sheep. anywhere THE RECEIVING corps for the Braves is one of the best in the region with tight ends Scott Stewart and Ken Allen talented players returning this year but the big question mark is the quarterback situation COACH PAUL Waite has always managed to come up with a great quarterback at the Brave school and this year he was to have had his best ever at that spot However during the summer Lynn Muir nijuitd his knee while playing baseball and has been slowed down considerably Word is right now that Lynn will be ready bv the second contest or by the first league encounter WITH MUIR at the helm the Braves will have a great passing attack to complement their always impressive running game Without Muir the running game will get the focus of attention and will get that much better If Muir doesnt play the quarterback the job will probably go to senior Bob Smith with juniors Kevin Kott and Dave Marchant right behind Kott has improved his passing immensely over the summer while Marchant is a good leader. Smith has been a backup to Muir the past two years and knows the offense He is also slated to start as a defensive back and wide men Blaine Bernard, Danny Glenn, Jimmy Perkins and Mike Haslam Stewart and Allen are both big tight ends with excellent hands while Bernard has the reputation of being the best receiver on the club Glenn has good speed and runs patterns well while Perkins is the fastest member of the team Haslam has good speed and is a good blocker LINEBACKING is the backbone of the Braves always tough defense and this year they have some top seniors to take over the spots Ron Graham, Steve Aste, Eddie Fowles and Rob Holmes are all capable of playing in this position as are juniors Hilton and Cottle The defensive secondary is n The new agreement is similar to one approved in 1974, except that it would authorize larger deductions from producer incentive payments. By approving it, producers would authorize deductions of up to 2'2 cents 'per pound on shorn wool and 12'2 cents per hundredweight on unshorn lambs marketed Deduction rates from 1966 through 1977 were l2 cents and 7 y2 cents, respectively.
