POLL Mrs. Lavern Jaques Poll, 1035 East South Weber Drive, South Weber, Utah, will be honored on her 80th birthday, Sunday, July 9, 1978 between 2 and 6 p.m. with the event being held at her home. MRS, POLL was born July in Layton. She is the daughter of Thomas William 10, 1898 and Emma Luciene Bybee Jaques, being the oldest in a family of 12 children. Her early life was spent in Layton and she attended schools in Davis County. On Nov. 14, 1911 she married William Lester Poll, with the ceremony being performed in Ogden. POLL was the Ogden District Mother of the Year in 1963 and in 1964 she was honored by receiving an Honorary Golden Gleaner Award in her stake. She has always been actively engaged in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and held numerous positions of leadership in her own camp in South Weber and served on the DavisCountyDUP Board. SHE WAS employed at the Ogden Arsenal and Naval Supply Depot for 21 years, retiring in 1965. She is the mother of ten sons and daughters, eight of whom are still living. They include Verl J. Poll and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Warner of Mountain Green, Utah; Mrs. Lola Brake, Donna Poll, Mrs. Wayman (Louise) Cash, and Duane W. Poll of South Weber; Mrs, Owen (Marie) Cash, Clinton; and Mrs. Dick (Carolyn) Child, Wilson Lane, Utah. MRS. POLL also has 40 grandchildren and 44 greatgrandchildren.
