Food For Thought All-Spo- rts -- , f tv it 1 By DAVE WIGHAM Usually high school sports have it over on the college ranks as far as excitement and drama are concerned but the younger people would do well to take a page out of the college book rVv '.? r I at director, the bands pt in the Davis Cup Marching Competition, the fy- 4 WHAT THIS reporter would like to see is an all sports trophy awarded on the high school level in the regions What would happen is that a school would be awarded points for each sport according to their finish in the region For example, give ten points to the champion, eight for second, six for third, four for fourth, two for fifth and so on s 4 s Ji ' f r i University of Utah Invitational, the Christmas Concert, the Utah State University Band during the 1477 78 school year The band brought home the first place trophy again from the Davis Cup at University of Utah Invitational They also traveled to BYU to perform a concert, put on a joint concert with the University of Idaho, ZCMI Festival of Arts and took many awards and superior ratings during the ' iii il ? K GIVE THESE points for each of the sports that all the schools participate m, or should Football, cross-countr- swimming, basketball, wrestling, golf, baseball, track, tennis and possibly soccer Gymnastics, and volleyball would be involved in the girls' trophy. At the end of the year the school with the most points would win the all sports trophy Suppose a team won the football championship in the region, placed third in y and fourth in golf.
