Show I I I 1 Ben Lomond Beacon, March, 13, 1980, Page K Wards present musical By Carol Jean Shaw The North Ogden Seventh and Ninth wards will present an original play, Within These Walls, this Friday and Saturday evening at the ward building on Elberta at the end of Drive Washington Boulevard. The play will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday night for Relief Society members of the two wards. The public is invited to attend Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The play features members of the two wards and is under the direction of Donna Hall, with Marilyn Jacobson as the music director and Shirlee Shiller assisting. The play is a musical drama which has been to written specially celebrate the LDS Churchs anniversSesquicetenmal ary. It will be 150 years since the church was founded on April 6, 1830 in Fayette, New York. The play will be produced on the ward, stake or region level throughout the church this spring. The production tells the story of five families who live in a house built in the early days of the church. From 1860 to today, the musical shows the changes and blessings the church has made in the families lives, and traces the growth of the church through their stories. The book and music were written by Margaret Smoot, a member of the Relief Society General Board for the church. The music was Robert composed by Brunner. Margaret Smoot has worked a writer, administrator, news reporter for KSL TV and talk show hostess on public television. She was the director of the Salt Lake Festival of the Arts in 1977 and Two public hearings on land use will be held in Plain-- ' City this month. The first, held by the Plain City Planning Commission, will take place March 20 in the Municipal Building, 4374 W. 2575 N. at 7:30 p.m. Th purpose of the meeting will be to review the proposed master plan for Plain City. The proposal, drawn up by a professor at Weber State College and his students, divides the town into commercial, light industrial, and residential areas according to the recommendations of citizens and the Plain City Council. 1978. Robert Brunner has been on staff composer-conductor at the Walt Disney Studios for the past sixteen years. He has composed over 100 for motion picture and TV shows. The cast includes: Larry Doman as the original owner; Rulon Twitchell, Kathleen Whitely, Troy Blacker, Claudia Selander, Teri Myers, Todd Whiteley and Ryan Perkins as the scores Herridge family; Bruce Hunt as the boy friend; Gordon Stewart, Gloria Myers, Denise Twitchell, Cindy Spackman, Brad Hobbs and Roger in the com munication and arts field as OGDENITES Carole Janis Spackman, dinner and party will be held for LDS Single Adults for Special Interests members and their friends Saturday, March 15 at 4 p.m. The event is hosted by the Lorin Farr Stake. All single adults in Weber, Box Elder, Davis and Morgan counties are welcome to attend. The dinner and party will be held at the LDS Cultural Hall, 9th St. and Harrison Blvd. in Ogden. Those wishing to take part are asked to bring a pot luck menu dish. The dinner will begin at 4 p.m. A program will follow the dinner. The Plain City Council will hold a public hearing March 27 at 7 p.m. to consider a request to rezone a parcel of land on about 1975 North 4550 West from an RE-1- 5 zone to an r zone. Once rezoned, the land would be the site for 13 new f'-- f .jj J ii homes.
