She is the first Utah instructor north of Salt Lake City to receive certification, according to Judi Rausch, R.N., Salt Lake City, state coordinator for ASPO. Mrs. Rausch said that professional certification with ASPO insures quality d classes by teachers in a specialty program. Training which leads to certification, she said, is equilvalent to a two-yea-r program. Mrs. Tooley holds a bachelor of arts degree in well-prepare- psychology and sociology and has eight years exin perience teaching childbirth education classes. Mrs. Tooley said that Lamaze training is carried out during the final eight weeks of pregnancy, with most couples attending regular childbirth education classes prior to that time. The method, is designed she said, is ideal for couples who wish to participate fully in the birth of their child. The husband acts as a coach, identifying tension, instructing his wife when to relax, do her breathing exercises and concentrate on a focal point, thereby diminishing pain and discomfort. Lamaze was named after the famous French obstetrician Fernand Lamaze. Dr. Lamaze first obseived this method in Russia and introduced it in 1951 in France. One of his patients, Marjorie Karmel, brought it to the United States in 1959 where it has been growing steadily. Obituary James Graham NORTH OGDEN James E. I could see why they wanted to straighten out 3100 N., but what was incomprehensible to me was why they left in the old curved part of the road creating a triangular shaped weed patch, especially when I heard in city council meeting that they were going to turn this small island into a park. At the risk of sounding like a rabble-rouse- r or the village idiot, I asked. There are a lot of lines under that stretch of road that we didnt knkow what to do with, so we left the road, explained Mayor McColley. It seems the hassel and expense of moving all those utility lines would far exceed any benefit that might possibly come from not having to keep up that tiny piece of asphalt or the little striD of lawn. Logical. They know what I asked that dumb question. Maybe there are a lot of other things people worry about that could be laid to rest with a little more light and less heat. ??? theyre doing. Glad Kimberly and Being naturally lazy and stingy, I mean effecient and thrifty, I hate to spend a lot of time and money on junk food. I want my effort and dollars to go for something other than ugly fat and pimples. But a snack that also offers some real food value now that is something else! Especially if its so fun and easy to make that the kids do it themselves without leaving the entire kitchen in shambles. Ricks Nachos, while not exactly cheap, are not all that bad, either, and they certainly fill the other above mentioned requirements. Trouble is, they are so delicious, I cant stay away from them. (There goes my diet again.) Stuart Holley are newcomers to North Ogden. They have two darling little boys, Michael, who Kimberly describes as 100 percent mischievious, and a baby, born last May, Daniel. Kimberly is a Roy High Graduate. Stuart is attending Weber State. He works as a brick layer. Stuart says he loves to tinker around with cars and play basketball. Kimberly likes to oil paint and participate in sports, especially swimming and softball. They spent three and a half weeks touring Germany, Austraia, France, Switzerland, Italy and England. They started out by flying to Frankfort, Germany, as Richard and Ralphs sister, Jean is living there. Her husband, Steven Brown, is stationed there with the U.S. Air Force. He is a dentist. They were really thrilled, as while they were visiting, Steven was made a Bishop in the LDS English speaking ward there. Diana said they had a lot of fun, shopping and sight is the TIME to BUY!!!
