Only seven points separated the two teams going into the last two races. Bonnevilles Gladstone picked up run with a first place in the time of 9.53:4. Warrior Dave DeVries came in with a time of 10.02:03 for second place with Blair Butler also of Weber for third place. These added needed points to keep Webers hopes alive for a victory. In a close race, Bonneville outdistanced Weber in the mile relay by a time of 3.35:0, but the Warriors came in a close second with 3.36 4, clinching the meet victory. He also played basketball, football and ran track at Snow College, then went on to play basketball and run track at BrighamYoung University before graduating from BYU in 1969. Alverson will finish up the rest of the school year at Weber before taking on his new position at Bonneville In the fall. Prior to coming to Weber three years ago, Gary serv ed as an assistant coach in basketball, football and track at Tooele High. Alverson, 31 years old is married to the former Lois Tufts, and they have four children. Alverson will be looking forward to adding life to the Laker basketball program after a dissappointing season in which in which Bonneville had. WEBER TRACK COACH.
