A residence customer, for example, will recieve a minimum of four pages instead of the current minimum of two pages." The first page of the bill is a, summary of the total bill, which is mailed with the payment. The second page details charges for Mountain bell local service, while the third page summarizes equipment charges and the fourth includes pages. . The divestiture plan allows Mountain Bell to bill for other companies which provide tele- - charges. Charges for basic local service, long distance calls and leased equipment will be clearly sepa rated into different sections of. the bill. Each section will list a telephone number to call for questions on that part of the ' statement. Processing claims for retirement, survivors, and disability benefits and helping people with their medicare claims are a large part d Besides handling problems, the Social Security office is also geared to respond with just about .any kind of help a person needs in understanding his or her rights and responsibilities under the programs it administers. This activity may range from answering general inquiries about Social Security or SSI to helping people check the earnings credited to their Social Security record or changing their names in Social Security records. The Social Security, office has a variety of informational materials that are useful to, organiza-- , tions, schools, groups, and other agencies interested in informing people about specific aspects of the Social Security programs. These include leaflets, films, slides, and news stories and columns suitable for newsletters and organizational publications. Social Security representatives are also available as speakers for of the Social Security offices , ter. Remember, heated rooms dry trees out quickly, and a dry tree is a fire hazard. Before lighting a fire in your fireplace, make sure FLUE IS OPEN. Always keep fireplace screen closed to confine embers and sparks. Never use lighted candles on a live tree or other evergreens. Alcandle ways use holders. Keep candles where they cant be knocked over. Avoid any decoration that has sharp edges or that tends to break easily. ; ' . sap. . . Some advertisements have offered to provide Social Security information for a fee. However, all information about Social Security benefits and programs are provided by the Social Security Office without charge. j Most Social Security matters can be handled by telphone. In fact, its a good idea to call first before coming to the office. That way we may save you a trip. If your business is not urgent, it is best to arrange your call so as to avoid peak Social Security business hours. The best time to call is in the afternoon during the latter half of the month.
