Show 8A Lakeside Review North, Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1983 AFB Queen Pageant MEET TOE SUPER TEAM Names 1983-8-4 Winners Hill SUPER CUTTERS i - i SUPER PEnLIERS HILL AIR FORCE BASE Lorraine Merrill, daughter of Alice C. Medina, North Ogden, was recently named winner of the Hill Air Force Base queen pageant. First and second runners up were Mary Ann Facer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard B. Nicks, Layton, and Cheri Byms, daughter of Reed M. Hunt, Og- den. From an original field of 59 contestants, 25 finalists were chosen. A panel of five judges from the surrounding community then determined the winners, rj based on poise, personality, appearance and speaking ability. The top three winners all are employed in the Ogden Air Logistics Centers Directorate of Contracting and Manufacturing. Ms. Merrill works as a contract negotiator in the commodities division. She expects to complete requirements for a bachelor's degree in accounting this fall and plans to take her certified public accountant exam in November. Ms. Facer is a branch clerk in the 4 branch, weapon system and major equipment division. She is continuing her college ed- ucation, with a view toward becoming a contract negotiator. Mrs. Byms is a procurement clerk in the contract administration and operations branch, manufacturing and contracting administration division. Weber Given Several SOUTH WEBER ideas for the proposed city park in Koziar Hills were proposed at the council meeting Sept. 27. Some citizens wanted baseball diamonds, others said the city needs a new soccer field. A bowery big enough for family reunions with an east wall for a windbreak, barbecue pits and rest room facilities were also suggested. According to Councilman Reid Stark the city has a five-yeoption to purchase the 8 V2 acre parcel for the park.
