Nelson, and W. A. Madill. Report Approved At the meeting of the League county committee Monday night the tentative report of the committee on arrangements was approved. At the Monday night meeting reports of organization activities were heard from all sections of the country. League units are now in existence in all of the countys 19 legislative districts. Together With the district and local units there are close to 100 locals of the League in the city and county. Some of .these locals report as many as 1000 members, and a voting strength of 2000. The total enrollment of the League in Salt Lake county exceeds 15,000. CARBON Sunday's meeting. Says the columnist: He bobbed up last week as counsel for the notoriously antiunion American Rolling Mills com pany which is being tried by the National Labor Relations Board on law charges of Wagner-Conner- y violations. Richberg, once described by one of his close associates as slippery as two eels trying to kiss each other in a barrel of okra, is trying to make out a case that the NLRB is persecuting the company and that the latter was only exercising its right of free speech. I dropped into the NLRB offices this week to see just what they had on the company. And I found that, according to the charges filed there, the company had exercised its right of free Maintaining a company union; hiring labor spies; slugging union organizers; coercing employes into joining the company union; breaking into union headquarters to pilfer union records; posting company police outside bona fide union meeting halls; threatening to discharge employes who joined a union; attempting to bribe union officials to betray members; intimn idating employes to sign petitions; giving them the third degree as to their labor activities, and threatening to close down the plant if it became unionized.
