The fourth point authorizes, by a vote of 44,841 to 3475, the I. T. U. executive council to take such action as may be necessary to retain the rights of the I. T. U. in the A. F. L. The request by the Mailers that they be permitted to withdraw from the Printers was voted down, 25,919 to 21,804. The referendum is an expression of complete approval by the mem bership of President Howards opposition to the encroaching dictatorship assumed by the A. F.
