NEWS AND COMMENT ADULT EDUCATION The knowledge of how to bring up children wisely is no longer supposed to be an intuitive gift divinely bestowed with motherhoot and needing no cultivation. Today mothers welcome the idea of educational training for the vo cation nature has assigned them n classes and bo the Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Irving and Lincoln nigh schools from 7 to 9 p. m., are draw ing good attendance. The classes are now reviewing so that new students entering can make a quick survey and go on with the work. Believing that art has a distinc contribution to the social, vocation al and leisure time objectives of the modern world, the following brie courses in art are offered by Miss Carolyn Parry at the Bryant High School: The first period, from 7 p. in. to 8 p. m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, will be devoted to design as applies to every day life in arts and crafts, from the development of the simple structural element to its application through material in home anc industry. All of the 400 employes are expected to enroll with the union within the next few days. At a meeting here Tuesday night James G. Thimmes, field representative of the Steel Workers committee of the C. I. O., presided, and explained the principles of organization. Officers of the recently formed lodge of the Columbia Steel plant were present and urged their fellow Workers at the pipe plant to join the union.
