Find the simplest, least expensive remedy that works. If it doesnt, then go to the next step, advised Dr. Abba Terr, clinical professor of medicine (immunology) at Stanford University Medical Center. In allergic persons, contact with pollen triggers the release of several body chemicals including one called histamine from the tissues. The chemicals have several important uses in the body, such as regulating blood flow in tissues, when released at appropriate times in response tb bodily needs. But when triggered in allergic persons by pollen, they cause blood vessels to dilate. The increased blood vessel size creates a feeling of stuffiness and stimulates mucous secretions, thereby causing the symptoms of hay fever. As much as possible avoid the plants that trigger your seasonal allergies, said Terr. Dont become a recluse.
