Show ft 8A Sun Advocate, Price, Utah Tuesday, August 1, 1995 Health facility construction begins Obituaries I Walter Westbrook PRICE Arvilla Millie Black Olsen Love, age 81, died July 28, 1995 at a Price hospital. She was bom June 25, 1914 in Green River, the daughter of George A. and Millie Parton Black. She married Ernest Olsen Nov. 7, 1932 at Price. He died April 21, 1975. Married Harley Love July 10, 1981 at Atoka, SALT LAKE CITY William D. Bill Peterson, 70, passed away at his Salt Lake City home July 30, 1995. Born July 29, 1925 in Ogden, the son of David 0. and Blanche Felt Peterson. He married Joy Smith Sept. 18, 1947 in Salt Lake City. Raised in Huntsville and graduated from Weber High School. Served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Graduated in 1950 from the U of U, where he lettered in basketball four years and played on the 1947 NIT championship team. Bill held many coaching positions at Carbon HS and Carbon College (CEU). Named athletic director and head of the PE department in 1964; retired in 1987. Bill was an active member of the Carbon County Sheriffs Posse since 1955 and worked for Castle Valley Cattle. Member of the LDS Church. Survi vors include his wife, Joy; three children and their spouses, Shawnda (Duane) Bishop; David J. (Connie) Peterson; Sherrie (Maurice) and Brown; Okla. She was a member of the LDS Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 349, Oklahoma. A graduate of Wasatch Academy at Mount Pleasant, she was a longtime resident of Carbon County. Sheloved to fish, read, and will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her husband, Harley Love, Price; two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Jack and Leah Olsen, Grand Junction, Colo.; Dick and Colleen Olsen, Salt Lake City; Kenna Rae and Darrell Gentry, Roy; Jolene and John Healy, Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother and his spouse, George and Mary Sue Black, Grand Junction, Colo.; stepmother, Esther Black, Yakima, Wash. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; one grandson; sister, Irene Ross; and brother, Ernest Black. Graveside service will be Tuesday, Aug. 1, noon, at Price City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday one hour prior to service. 12 grandchildren. Viewing will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC. Josephine Laramie BULLHEAD CITY, Nev. Josephine Pagano Leo Laramie, age 86, died July 24, 1995 in Bullhead City, Ariz. She was bom May 12, 1909 in and Dorothy Proud Westbrook. He married Barbara Oviatt Oct. 24, 1942 at Syracuse, Kan. A resident of Carbon County for 52 years, Walter was a special agent for the D&RGW and also Pro Construction workers cling to metal beams being used in the construction of a new health facility being built near Castleview Hospital. The new facility will replace one now being used by the hospital near Castle Rock Square in Price. n. frff FASHION SHOW Care plans signups When school starts later this month, Pro Care will be back for its fourth year. Pro Care is the afterschool child care program run by Carbon County Recreation. It will operate during the year at Wellington, Sally MauVo, Creekview and Castle Heights elementary upcoming schools. The program has been a lifesaver for many parents in the county, explained Steve Christensen, Carbon recreations executive director. Pro Care allows parents to know their children are safe and being cared for until an adult gets off work. The program runs until 6 p.m. daily when school is in session. It is very important for young children to have quality surveys, children who spend 11 or more hours per week in self-car-e as compared to youngsters who have adult are twice as supervision likely to use alcohol, smoke or use marijuana. Pro Care will not refuse any child for inability to pay. The program is partially funded through a grant from the Utah Office of Child Care. People may preregister children at the Carbon County Recreation office, located in the Zions Bank building at 625 East 100 North in Price. Each youngster must be registered even though he or she may have attended Pro Care last year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
