As exciting as this is, it has brought with it some serious safety concerns that Salina Elementary and NSMS are trying to resolve. The main concern is the walkingbike route for students along 200 West which is also a high traffic road for the construction equipment. Therefore, the walkingbike route, par- -' ticularly for elementary students, has been changed to go in front of the middle school. These changes are in effect now and have been since Monday, March 6. The crossing guard for Main Street will be at 100 West by the Salina City Hall. Salina City is in the process of changing the location of the flashing school crossing lights as well. Elementary students are encouraged to do their best to be past the middle school before their dismissal time at 2:50. This way they will not be in the way of middle school pick-u- p traffic. Drivers need to be aware that children will be walking to the foot bridge along 1 00 South by Martin Automotive and Bryan Rasmussen Welding. Th is is a blind turn to some degree so equipment.
