Show Page 8 Salina Sun July 10. 1996 July 2, 1996 Officer Joe Reynolds stopped a 1988 Chrysler Lebaron for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver, John R. Richart, 31, of Koosharem, Utah, was under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the Sevier County Jail. Derek Lunn, 25, of Salt Lake City, Utah, was stopped for speeding by Officer Joe Reynolds. A computer check on his license indicated that there were five outstanding warrants for Mr. Lunn. Two were felony warrants and he was taken to Sevier County Jail where he is being held on the warrants. Thomas J. Ross, 4 , of Sandy, Utah, was involved in a minor collision in the parking lot, further invesrevealed that Mr. Ross was tigation influence. He was under the driving arrested and taken to the Sevier 1 County Jail. Jackson R. Budd, 34, of Hisperia, CA, was stopped for a traffic violation by Officer Mark Topham. Fur July 3,1996 Florencio Garza, 34, of Texas, was stopped for a traffic violation by officer Mark Topham. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Garza was driving under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the Sevier County Jail. Nanette C. Larson, 16, of Orem, Utah, was attempting to pass and saw an oncoming vehicle. She hit the brakes to return to her lane and lost control and rolled twice. Larson was wearing a set belt and only received minor injuries. July 4, 1996 Gerald Winfield, 42, and Emma Mae Pope, 43, both of Chicago, Illinois, was stopped for speeding by Officer Lane Ogden. Further investigation revealed one large and one small suit case filled with money. The money was seized and taken to Salt Lake City to be counted the next day. The driver stated that he was taking the money to Las Vegas. The amount of money was so large, that it was taken to a bank in Salt Lake City to use a counting machine.
