The supplement is aimed at both youngsters and parents, and is built around coloring book with positive messages designed to inform the reader of the importance saying no to drugs. Say No To Drugs and Alcohol is the books theme, which is, carried out with a animals, people and objects to color on nearly every page. Daniels vie for seat Two candidates fife for County Commissioner Olsen announces candidacy for Sevier County Commission post Tex R. Olsen announced his candidacy for a four as Sevier County Commissioner. Tie will be term year the Republican ticket. on running Olsen was bom in Sevier County on a farm west of Monroe. He graduated from the South Sevier High School. Following high school graduation he enlisted in the United State Air Force and was an Air Force Pilot during World War II. After graduating from law school at the University of Utah, he established a law practice in Richfield. He is continuing in the law practice with the law firm of Ol, sen, Mcllf & Chamberlain. He married Monna Lee Martines of Richfield and they have four children. The youngest son, John, was killed in a boating accident in Lake Powell. Their other children are: David R. Olsen, who is practicing law in Salt Lake City. He and his wife Rosemary have four children, two boys and two girls. Pamela married Jeff Gosman, a lawyer, is practicing in Casper, Wyoming. They have five sons. Scott F. Olsen, who is practicing medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada as an anesthesiologist. Dwight A. He is married to Sandra Daniels and they are the parents of seven children and have one grandchild. He retired from the State of Utah Department of Corrections in 1990. He is presently working in private industry for Moroni Feed Company at their Salina operation, where he has functioned as Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and Plant Supervisor. Shake those Mid Winter Blues and be SCEDD honors Piute ATV, Salina in recognition banquet During their Fourth Annual Recognition and Installation Banquet, conducted February 23 at the Road Creek Inn Restaurant, Loa, the Six County Economic Development District (SCEDD) honored area businesses and community leaders for their exceptional effort and contribution to economic and community development. Richfield Coca-col- a Bottling Company was presented with the regional economic development award. They were recognized for the continual effort to support civic, public, and private events through promotional endeavors within the six county area. Accepting the award in behalf of the company were Mr. Fred Christensen, General Manager and Mr. Lee Couch, Sales Manager. Mayor Chesley Christensen, Mt Pleasant City, SCEDD vice Chair made the presentation. George W. Johansen, Owner and Manager of G.W. Johansen construction Company, Mt. Pleasant, was honored for the significant employment he creates and economic strength he provides to Sanpete County. Commissioner J. Keller Christenson, Sanpete County, presented Mr. Johansen with the award. The Paiute ATV Trail Committee was recognized for their outstanding coordination and development of the Paiute ATV Trail which has greatly enhanced the tourism industry of Sevier county. Accepting the award in behalf of the committee were Mr. Roger Foisy, Chairman, and Mr. Gordon Kiesel, Committee Member. Mr. Richard Leyba, Director of Economic Development for Seiver County made the presentation. Ash Grove Cement West, hie. was recognized for the significant economic strength they provide to Juab and neighboring counties. Mr. Glenn Greenhalgh, Director of Economic Development for Juab County made the presentation. Mr. Duane Crutchfield, Plant Manager, and Mr. Ken Ware, Human ResourcesEnvironmen-ta- l Manger, received the award in behalf of the company. Continental Lime, Inc. was honored for their contribution to the economic vitality of Millaid County. Accepting the award in behalf of the company were Mr. Russell Dobson, Cricket Mountain Plant Manager, and Millard Mr. Mike Palmer, Maintenance Supervisor. Joseph F. and Nancy Smith, Owneis and managers of The Wooden Nickel, Marysvale, were rccognied for the entrepreneunal spirit and cicaling employment in IP,Y Piute County. Commissioner Don Julander, Piute County Commissioner, presented Mr. Smith with the award. Mr. Smith was not able to attend. Nephi City was presented with the regional beauti- fication award. Accepting the award and travelling trophy in behalf of Nephi City Mr. Milton Harmon, City Councilman and Mr. Philip Baker, Parks and Cemetery Supervisor. Fred and Janet Hansen, Owners and Mangers of were honored for their continual growth and employment contribution to the economic strength and well being of Wayne County. the Torrey Greenhouse, Torrey, Commissioner Meeks Morrell, Wayne County Commis- sioner, presented Mr. and Mrs. Hansen with the award, Recognition was given to Representative Mike Styler who resigned from the SCEDD Board after eleven years of service. Millard County Commissioner Tony Dearden received an award in behalf of Representative Styler who was unable to attend. Mr. Vince Crawford, District Manager of Utah Power serving Delta and Milford was installed as a newly appointed member of n the SCEDD Board and Panoramaland Resource Conser-sentatio- vation and Development Council, The recognition banquet is sponsored annually by the Six County Economic Development District Board and Panoramaland Resource Conservation and Devel-wer- e opment Council.
