Show VOL. XV Hyrum Cache County, Otah, Friday, Aug. Nielsen Reunion U. A. C. Nutes Interesting Event reunion of the Nielsens by that name was held in the grove on the public square, Hyrum City, Wed. A July 30th. at 2 p. m. I. C. ThoreSen, of Salt Lake City, master of ceremonies. The following program was well rendered and received with a great deal of enthusiasm: Singing America Congregation Invocation, Mrs. Elnora Wight We thank Thee 0 God Singing,' for a Prophet Congregation. Speech, Mrs. R. C. Historical Sketch of Nielsen fam ily, I. C. Thoresen. Fancy dancing in costume, Valeria Andersen. Recitation, Master Homer Anderwas Allen-Lindle- y. The course in Basket Ball Coach ing is being repeated the second term of the U. A. C. Summer Schoo There were so many calls for it, anc the influence of the good trainin was so greatly felt in the Athletic circles of Utah and the bordering states, that this course has been in great demand. Coach Jensen is an able instruct or, having had a great deal exper ience in the athletic game, and es pecially in basket ball, having been on the first Utah team going eas in 1908. and he has produced three championship teams during his coaching at the B Y. C. and IT. A C. in the past twelve years. 1 Hannah Johnson Laid to Rest Funeral services over the remains Sister Hannah Johnson, who died last week from old age and other ailments, were hold at the 1st ward chapel on July 28th at 2 p. m., with Bp. L. D. McBride presiding, and the ward choir under the leadership of Mads Rasmussen furnishing of singing. Pra.vtr was offered by Elder Z. W. Israelsen, singing. The 1st speaker was J. Carlson from Logan, who met sister Johnson while on a mission in Sweden, He told of her great kindness the all the eldtrs that came to her Mrs. Malinda Liljenquist home. KO. , 1924 and herself emigrated to Utah, to take care of her two children here. On arrival in Utah she found them both O. K., and then set to work to save means to send for the two children left hehind. , She with others struggled hard to make a living, but later succeeded in sending for the girls both of whom arrived here O. K. The family lived in Millville, Salt Lake city and then came to Hyrum, where she ha3 resided the past 35 or 40 years. During that time her children have married and moved away, one of the girls living at Portland, Oregon, one at Kamebridge, Idaho, and the son at' Pocatello, Idaho. Her grandson, Joseph Nyequist, who she has taken care of since he was six years old, lives in this city. Considering her age sister John, son got along quite well, but the latter part of April she became quite ill, and her daughter Hannah came down from Idaho, and took eare of her mother for about 6 weeks, but account of sickness in her own family, had to return home. Then her daughter Ada came down from Portland, and helped to take care of her mother until the end came. Everything was done that could be to prolong her life, and best of care and attention given her. but to no avail, and she passed away on July and Miss Lola Allen, accompanied on the piano by Miss Lila Nielsen sang very pleasingly Beautiful Isle of Somewhere. Andreas Petersen of Logan, who was Presi lent of the Swedish Mission for a number of years, related some of the experiences encountered by the elders while traveling through a snowstorm in that country, and how glad they were to 24 1924, at 7 p. m.
