OTTKC SIMJiggASSCtiMDl1 Two Killed in Auto Accident A deplorable auto accident occurred last Thursday evening just South of the Blacksmith Fork bridge near Millville, whereby two people were killed and six others seriously hurt. According to reports thre were eight members in the party; four men and four ledies. The male members were Mr. Eckman, who was driving, M. S. Riley, representative of the Ford Motor company in Utah and Idaho, C. Lee Jones, a local demonstrator for the Ford company, and Ford agent Sloey of Brigham City. The ladies were Miss Rachel Meyrick, health nurse in the city schools, Miss Connie Jensen, health nurse of the county schools and Misses Jones and Lindsay. All were seated in the big Lincoln car and were on the way to a dance at one of the towns in the south end of the county. It could not have been more than a few minutes after the men in th party had picked the young ladies up before the accident occurred, all indications at the place where it occurred pointing to the faet that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. More particulars of the accident will CAtHt L'UUKIKK- - HYKUM. J- i,VM SSJ&S&LSXZir. appear later. LiteraFy Meeting '' 99999999999 9 99 99999999999999 Covered Wagon Funeral of Mrs.! Filmed Outlined Eva S. Haslam Some idea of the amount of the advance planning required for The Goveied Wagon. which comes to the Capitol, Logan, Dec. 28, 29, matinee and evening, can be gained from ths fact that it was necessary to search nine Western states for locations. The searchers went through California, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, $ew Mexico and Arizona, This was while the continuity was being prepared. The men decided what was wanted from the descriptions in the book. As a result of this searching it was finally found necessary to film the buffalo hunt on Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake; the long trailing of the wagon train in Nevada and southern Utah; the crossing of the Platte river on the Meek Ranch in Utah; the gold hunting in the mountains of California, and a few scenes in Oregon. Less than half of one per cent, of the production was made in studio. Among the government authcri-tie- s were Col. T. who A-, J. McCoy, U. S. bringing down four tribes of Indians from their Wyoming reservations; all the public officials of the countries included in the locations; A- E. Sheldon, of the Nebraska superintendent State Historical Society for data and photographs of the Oregon Trail, and Eunice G, Anderson, state historian of Wyoming, regarding Fort Bridger and other historic forts in Wyoming. There probably has never previously been a picture involving such wide collaboration. Bp. Jorgensen and C. L. Anhdfr of the City Committee on streets, met with the County Commissioners last Monday and called their attention to the fact that they were entitled to some aid in fixing the 3 blocks of road, leading from the 3rd ward meeting house north to the College road, and which was much in need of repair. After considering the matter the commissioners consented to give them a small appropriation . if Hyrum city would furnish teams and have the work done at once, which the committee agreed to do. The work is now being done under the supervision of street supervisor Geo. Stanton, and a good job is being made on that piece of the road. Messrs. Jorgensen and Anhder are to be commended for the action taken in the matter as they are immediately responsible for getting this work done.
