Show South Cache Courier Hyrum, Cache County, Utah, Friday, Feb. 27, 1920. VOL. X. NO. 14 Additional Locals Farm Bureau Engineer Shaubs Estimate on Letter From Jane of Logan, her Improved City Water System her relatives. News Notes visiting Missionary Following the estimated cost, for the proposed Improvement Vote for Mrs. is of the Hyrum City Water System, figuring from the upper spring up in day. 1920. 20th Feb. Ana, the flat: Cal, Santa : :- Editor CourierDear Friend and Bro. 4500 Possibly if you have been on a 4000 mission you understand why it is 8000 that missionaries write so few letters but I am taking this opportunity to thank you for the Courier, which I read with great interest and it would indeed seem very impossible to find out how my own home town is getting along were it not for this most appreciated messenger. In the course of a few weeks I will have been out in the mission field for a year and it is surprising how rapidly the time does fly when one is engaged in the work of God. I have experienced a year of the most happiest time of" my life and have come to the grand realization that this is the most important work and the most profitable that a man Would that can be engaged in. man of my age could every young come into the missionary field. During my labors 1 have had the privilege of laboring in a great many of the western cities of California. I started and received my initation in tne work at Sacramento and must confess, it seemed rather odd to wear the derby and go tract-inThen I went to San Francisco and labored there a short time and attended conferance, had the pleasure of speaking to the people and what few, words I did say were about baptism, which I shalL long lememberC that being my first attempt. From San Francisco- I was sent to dear old Southern California, to San Diego where I labored for six months. I cant explain the beautiful sights enjoyed in my trip, and as every other missionary has said, the place where he was sent was the best. So it is with me and ould there be a more beautiful place than this state, of flowers and eternal summer? From San Diego I attended conferance in Los Angeles and then was assigned to Santa Ana, the orange belt of California the county being named Orange County. I wish the kind people of Hyrum could see the orange groves as they look today and enjoy the warm breezes and fragrance that is so prevalent here. It seemed impossible to me that there could be blossoms and oranges on the same tree and snow but a few miles away thats the case here however. The people as a rule in California are very distant and hard to get acquainted with. As the saying is, that California is the play ground of the world is in one sense true, but we find many who will listen and accept our literature. I feel to rejoice when I can appoach a man and offer him the doctrines of. Jesus Christ and show to him by every possible record the world has, that it is the truth. I never have had one yet that could say that we were teaching false doctrines, because its there for them to read. For this I thank God, and that I have been chosen as an ambassador of this great work which stands the test and offers Life and Salvation as a reward to all who labor for it. It really is a great thing to be proud of and my prayers are that I may aid someone to see the light. I had the pleasure of meeting my parents and sisters. Theyre located at Venice and are enjoying the ocean and climate for the short space until spring. g. - - , ft. of 10-in- .
