Utah of causes incident to age Beloved of all KAYSVILLE fie i remained active and vital involved with family neighbors and fnends literally until the moment of his passing He had resided Charles Joseph Jr McDonough - ROY Charles Joseph McDonough Jr passed away after a long hngenng illness on March 10 2001 He was bom December 211 922 in Brooklyn New York the son of Charles Joseph Sr and Edna Devlin McDonough He attended grammar school at the Lady of in Utah at St Mark’s Gardens (a retirement community) since 1 992 where he was a mentor and fnend to all who lived there At the advanced age of 93 he was serving as Assistant High Priest Group Leader instructor and Home Teacher in the Apple Tree Retirement Center Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-DaSaints His was a life of service and devotion to family fnends and community He was bom April 6 1 907 in Freedom Wyoming son of J P and Rosa Luthi Robinson He graduated from Preston High School was the Student Body President and won the “AIIAround Athlete Medal ” He had a 34 year career with the J C Penney Company retiring as manager of the Preston Idaho store in 1961 After retiring he served as Franklin County Probate Judge for eight years during which time he served a term as president of the Idaho State Probate Judge's Association His active involvement in the LDS Church while in Preston included service in the Preston 7th Ward Bishopric Stake High Counselor Manager of the Oneida Stake Welfare Farm Cache Valley Regional Welfare Representative Officiator in the Logan LDS Temple and Stake Patriarch He is recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for his service to the Boy Scouts of America (Cache Valley Council) He served as Rotary Club President President of the Preston Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Franklin County Hospital Board Chairman of the Preston School Board President of the Franklin County Fair Board and was instrumental in the planning development and construction of the Preston Senior Citizen Center while serving as president of the Senior Citizen's Board He married Mary LaRue Golight-l- y August 5 1930 He is preceded in death by his beloved sweetheart January 6 998 and their daughter Shirley Rae Eames (Gartn G Eames Rupert Idaho) Also preceded by him are two brothers John public school high Queens New in York He graduated from Syracuse University with a BA Degree in National Guard pay classification office at the Salt Lake City Airport for all Air Force and Army National Guard units west of the MS AK and HI He retired as a GS-1in July 1978 after his marriage to Jackie On February 23 978 They lived in Tooele for two years then moved to Clearfield He has been a resident of Roy for ten years He will be long remembered as a very kind and gentle person He loved of his bakery His gardening skills had no nval from the fabulous perennials to every fruit tree imaginable to the pine forest of more than 1 00 trees Paul set a high goal for all of us to stnve for He was utterly and completely devoted to his beloved wife for Frances His Frances has taught us all what love His and means honesty really integnty were impeccable He taught his grandchildren to treasure
