indian territory in the days of hardship for the latter day Saints while his hia parents were struggling along on the frontier endeavoring to obtain an outfit to enable them to gather with the saints in the appy of the great salt lake he died at the home of his brother charles F P poster foster he leaves a wife and two chalden to fourr his loss WILLIAM ATKIN AT KIN RHODA M JAMESON died at loa wayne county february 26 1898 mrs rhoda marla maria jameson deceased was the wife of hyrum S jameson and the youngest daughter of thomas and catherine foy and was born in farmington davis county utah nov 13 1853 was married oct 12 1872 at Mine minersville Miners raville ville utah and was the mother of youngest only two hours old all of them survive her and mourn the loss of a loving mother sister jameson left behind her many friends and the funeral cortege that followed her to the grave was one of the largest ever formed in loa her childen were all present but one after viewing the remains for the last time at the family residence the body was taken to the meeting house which was packed to overflowing and where consoling remarks were made by bishop thom thomas as blackburn presidents willis E robison and gersen S bastian baltian Ba etian patriarch E H blackburn and elders B F V brown and ole oie after which she was laid away in her last earthly resting place and the grave dedicated by president willis E robison sister jameson died as she had lived full of faith in the gospel of jesus christ end and with a desire that her children should always be obedient to its teachings R C TAYLOR ANN MATTINSON PACKER payson march 28 ann mattin Mattl mattenson 9 on packer daughter of mathen and su shaw was born peb feb 6 1812 at moorfield yorkshire england she was baptized into the church of jesus christ of latter day saints at sunderland england feb 16 1847 by elder david candland and was married at sunderland church to robert mattinson on the day of nov 1832 with her husband and family she emigrated to america in the year 1866 1856 traveling in captain martins hand cart company she endured eni dured many privations and hardships crossing the plains and not only suffered the cares and hardships of the cold journey but also suffered the loss of one most beloved and near to her her husband this occurring near fort Lax laramie amle after travel in ing gr six months they reached salt lake city nov 30 1866 1856 she came to pay soil two days later where she has lived continuously up to the present time she to is the mother of nine children five sons and four daughters three of who whom mare are now living she has awen ty two grandchildren grande hildren and four great grandchildren her life has been spent in an earnest cheerful and unassuming manner she has been a true and faithful wife affectionate mother and grandmother and so con linued up to the last MARTHA GRANT died at hyde park march 15 16 1898 of dropsy martha beloved wife of david grant funeral services were held in the hyde park meeting house march consoling remarks being made by bishops willam wiliam and charles hyde elders gorge seamons thomas duce and W G reese the remains were followed lowed to the cemetery by a host of relatives and friends where all that was waa mortal of sister martha was wall consigned to mother earth martha grant was born in iowa june 12 1847 while her parents jessie and loraine molen were en route tor for utah mrs molen at that time gave birth to twin daughters and mrs murdock murdoch the he twin sister now resides at lehl lehi they arrived in salt lake city in october of the same year and deceased was therefore one of those of that famous year 1847 her parents settled in lent lehi where they passed through many hardships endured by the saints in those early days sister martha moved to cache county in 1864 was married to david grant january 14 1865 nine children have been born to them six daughters and two sons surviving her she was truly one of earths noble ones although of a modest a and nd retiring disposition posit lon she was waa an untiring worker in every position she was called to td jw for the last two years she has been a great sufferer yet she never felt to murmur or complain when asked how she felt she would invariably 1 I am better she was a woman answer or of great faith and died in full hopes hope jofs of a glorious resurrection ALBERT LOOD LOOB on the of march 1898 another sad death occurred in the city of SU st george when george albert loob passed from this sphere of action leaving in 9 four children without father ot m mother othe the mother having died fifteen months ago he was born in st geor gehnke on the of april 1863 the funeral services were held in the st gorge gorg tabernacle taberna clep bishop andrue presiding the speakers were elders william atkin and S L adams and bishop andrus many eyes were motet molet with tears to see his aged widowed mother with those four orphan children by her knee and many kind and loving words were uttered by the speakers all present were advised to assist all in their power to make the rough paths of life as smooth as possible for his aged mother and orphan children and may he who has said that a spar row shall not fall to the ground without hla his notice comfort and bless the bereaved it was truly said of the deceased that he was an unassuming honest upright young man he waa trying to earn money to meet his obligations caused by the sickness and death of his beloved wife and to do this went to the mining camp of de la mar and obtained employment in a mill where he was attacked with the sickness from which he never ered his death Is that of the third prosperous young man who has returned from the same place within a few months and laid his
