in Christ 2424 E Ave will be observing their first founder's day and appreciation service at 3:30 pm Sunday with Elder Bobby Allen pastor at Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Salt Lake City as guest speaker The service w ill be in memory of their late pastor and founder Elder David F Griffin who pastored the church for nearly 45 years before his passing Sept 29 1989 Griffin held the first services in the living room of his home and in the homes of others until a plot of land was purchased at 788 W 26th St where a basement building was built and later the upper part was erected as the place of worship That building served the congregation for 30 jears until April 1989 when it purchased the old 16th Ward building and property from the LDS Church The building was a fulfillment of
