his field of labor and on arrival I 1 n liverpool was assigned to the Scot scottish conference he traveled and prea preached cheu in that country for seventeen months month his principal field being the city of edinburgh he reports the progress programs of the gospel in scotland ve being quite satisfactory during his pre presence tence in edinburgh he be baptized twelve member and ft a branch of the church was organized upon leaving lea scotland elder stevens slovene took up his bis labors in the newcastle conference of which he had bad been appointed president and in which capacity he success he found the people generally inclined toward the mormon elders the better classes of the residents giving the elders a cordial welcome the people of that section of country are beginning to
