Show Standard-Examine- r Saturday November 26 1988 Metro set to open Union Station annual Christmas festival OGDEN — Union Station launches its annual Christmas Tree Wonderland and Christmas Express next weekend with new features such as a center for children and a miniature model of historic Salt Lake City The festival is presented by the station and the Weber School District Foundation to help fund programs for handicapped children in Weber County and for the station The Christmas Tree Wonderland and Christmas Tree Express will be open from 10 am to 10 pm Friday 10 am to 9 pm Saturday and noon to 5 pm Sunday For the seventh year Christmas trees designed and donated by individuals and local businesses will be sold in a “silent” auction in the lobby Friday with all proceeds spent on programs for handi gift-maki- three-day-lo- ng capped students The highest bidders will be announced at 9:45 pm Several of the trees will be auctioned during the gala champagne dinner in the station's MS Browning Theater at 6 pm Friday The “Magical Miniatures” will include a scaled-dow- n version of old Salt Lake City handcrafted doll houses replica trains and a small circus Another new feature this year is a center where children can make gifts under the supervision of volunteer artists The cost is $1 The traditional “Street of Shops” will feature about 20 vendors selling holiday gifts decorations and food Admission to the event is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children under the age of 12 BFGoodrich RADIAL ALL-TERRAI- TM N Race Proven Designed For On -
