1307 pin total Jessie Peak finished second with a 1142 total — 165 pins off Jepps-enpace “Everything was working It was just one of those days” Jeppsen said “I had placed in this tournament but I had never won before” In the open division Ogden’s Mitzi Wilson rolled a 644 and a 563 series to outdistance second-plac- e finisher Nancy Berchtold by seven pins — 1207 to 1200 “The tournament had a little bit of a strange shot” said Wilson “It was straight and I usually throw a hook You had to hit the boards or you were in trouble" the Women's National Bowling Association for the high tournament game She gets one for the score plus an award for hitting 1 1 consecutive strikes She will also be honored for being over a 100 pins above her average Pat Johnson of Hooper won the C division for bowlers with a 159 average or below with series of 539 and 498 for a 1037 tally “The alleys were good and the boll was rolling well" said Johnson “I didn’t feel good about my bowling and I was surprised when I won the C division" Roy’s Paula Graham used a 290 score in her final game to win the B division for bowlers with 160 to 169 averages She had series of 551 and 621 for a 1172 total ’s “During that particular game I knew I was 75 pins behind” said Graham who has been bowling for only four years “I knew where the shot was I stayed down and rolled good My friends gave me the incentive
