Show NOVEMBER 17, 1987 L, J. McArthur dies John OIc McArthur, 68, of Hooper, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1987, at his home of cancer. He was born May 18, 1919 in Oakley, Ida., a son of John Obray and Pearl Marie Anderson McArthur. He married Vera Christensen June 7, 1946, in Hooper. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in February, 1948. He had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Hooper LDS 1st Ward and had been in the Elders quorum presidency, Sunday School superintendency, High Priest group leader, home teacher, and had served as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple. He served on the Scout committee. He had retired from Hill Air Force Base and had worked at the Roy City Complex. He was a caretaker for Hooper City Park and was also a committee member. He had lived in Oakley, Idaho, Ogden, Sunset and Hooper. Surviving are his widow of Hooper, three sons and two daugh- - ters, John O. McArthur, Lloyd C. McArthur, Scott D. McArthur, all of Hooper; Mrs. Ed (kenae) Pattil-lClearfield; Mrs. Greg (Susan) Randall, Centerville; and 21 grando, children. Also surviving are one brother and nine sisters, Boyd McArthur, Fallon, Nev.; Mrs. Robert (Lucy) Long, Oakdale, Calif.; Mrs. Roy (Gennieve) Shields, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Zimmerman, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. John (Bonnie) Marriott, Torrence, Calif.; Mrs. Opal Gandee, Washington Terrace; Mrs. Grant (Selina) Mortensen, Ogden; Mrs. Nelson (Jane) Arave and Mrs. Blake, both of Roy; and Ber-nade- an Mrs. John (Vivian) Pickett, Sunset. He was preceded in death by one son, one brother, and one sister. Services were held Oct. 31 in the Hooper 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Rulon Fowers officiating. Funeral directors, Myers Mortuary of Roy. Interment was in the Hooper Cemetery. Russell rites held Maurine Hooper Russell, 87, of 1065 S. Main, Kaysville, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1987, in Humana Hospital Davis North in Layton of causes incident to age. She was bom Aug. 31, 1900, in Ogden, a daughter of David Wilkie and Ann Elizabeth Cox Hooper. She married William F. Russell, March 7, 1916 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 9, 1971. She had lived with her son in Fruit Heights for the past year. She attended school in Hooper. She was an active member of the Creekview LDS Ward, serving in the YWMIA and the Relief Society. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Surviving are one son and one daughter, D. Douglas Russell, Fruit Heights; Mrs. Ernest M. (Marjorie) Kerr, Inglewood, 16 Calif.; grandchildren, grandchildren and 14 43 great- She wus preceded in death by one son and one daughter. Osborne succumbs Myrl Hazel Osborne, 79, of 403 Center Street, Clearfield, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1987 at Humana Hospital Davis North in Layton of causes incident to age. She was bom Feb. 2, 1908 in Minkcrre, Ida., a daughter of Albert and Victoria Rasmussen Wilde. She married Roy E. Osborne May 14, 1928 in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple July 31, 1973. She had lived in Ashton, Ida. until 1941. She then moved to Clearfield where she has since resided. She was educated in Idaho. She was a member of the Clear- field 3rd Ward where she had served as Primary and Sunday School teacher. Surviving are her husband of Clearfield; one son and three daughters, Kenneth E. Osborne, Clearfield; Mrs. Geraldine Nellsch, Clearfield; Mrs. Marion LaFave, Spring Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Kath- leen Bennett, Evanston, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren and 32 great- - grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters, Joseph D. Johnson, Bountiful; Herschel A. Wilde, Murray; Emma Olsen, Blackfoot, Wavel Erickson, Preston, Ida.; Gertrude Kosof and Doris Housley, both of Ogden; Beth Meacham, NewPort Beach, Calif.
