Dolleen Wakefield Jewett is putting aside her myriad of duties come the end of this month to enjoy the territory that comes with retirement. Ive never dreaded coming to work, I still feel good about it. I just feel its time to do other things, she says. That will mean spending more time with her husband Duain, a engineer who recently-retire- d worked at HAFB, and spending time at their Farmington home with their two children and grandchildren. Mrs. Jewett entered nursing as her answer to World War IIs call to patriotism. She joined the Army Nurse Corps and spent six months at the Oakland (Calif.) Naval Hospital. That gave me a chance to practice what Id learned at St. Marks Hospitals training program in Salt Lake City, she says. The Oakland duty involved treati- ng Marines and Navy burn and accident victims.
