In a Born in Germany Clearfield Special news came from Germany this past week to Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Nelson of Clearfield. It was word of a special delivery made by the stock to their daughter, Del Jean and husband Corporal Gary Cook who are living in Iladlotz, Germany. Gary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cook of Syracuse, and is serving with the Quartei master Corps of the U. S. Army. This is the first child for the Cooks and the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Nelson. The young man, who arrived ahead of schedule probably to' be sure he could leave thj European country when his Mom and Dad do in August, weighed in at ( lbs. and 13 oz. when he arrived on June 21. The law says tne child must be six weeks of age to leave the country and Mr. and Mrs. Cook plan to be home at the end of the summer. Of great interest to you, will be the fact that this delicious salad is so quick and rice. easy to prepare when you make it with packaged, pre-cook- ed Chicken Salad California 13 teaspoon pepper Minute Rice cups diced cooked chicken 1 cup diced celery 12 teaspoon salt 1 cup drained diced orange cups boiling water sections 23 cup mayonnaise French 13 cup 12 cup coarsely chopped dressing 1 teaspoon salt walnuts Add packaged rice and 12 teaspoon salt to boiling water in saucepan. Mix just to moisten all rice. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand 13 minutes. Then uncover and let cool to room temperature. About 1 hour before serving, combine mayonnaise, French dressing, 1 teaspoon salt, and the pepper, mixing well. Combine chicken, celery, orange sections, and walnuts in a bowl. Stir in the mayon- naise mixture. Then add the rice and mix lightly with a fork. Chill. Serve on crisp lettuce. Makes about C cups, or 4 to 6 servings.
