FARMINGTON Department of Agriculture has announced that swine fed raw garbage anytime in their life, and swine products derived from them, will be unable to move interstate, except for special processing, after January 1, 195(. The original restriction, passed on July 1, 3953, was eased in 1931, Assistant County Agent Maurice S. Marshall explains, because many hog producers didnt have equipment to cook garbage. Garbage cooking equipment is now available and practical everywhere, and the original restriction will go into effect the first of next year. Vesicular exanthema (VE), a viral infection that has threatened the nations swine industry in recent years, is now limited mostly to isolated spots in .19 counties of six states. Utah had this infection in 3953 and 1931, but no cases have been reported in 3955. VE is spread chiefly by feeding ' ! r t ' - r ; X ; r : V r - v v, a Vv y states have raw garbage.
