Mrs. Dan Riley attended a Mothers Tea of the Alpha Thi Sorority Sunday at the Chapter house in Salt Lake. Her daughter Carolea gave the welcome address to all the sorority sisters and their mothers. Try, for Instance, the following fruit Juice cocktail for a festive dinner starter. Chill 2 c. apple orange Juice; dissolve 6ver boiling water. Add tbsp. grated orange rind; 1 c. orange sections, Yz c. each diced dates, diced celery, tbsp. lemon juice and 2 c. canned applesauce. Mix well. Pour Into mold that has been rinsed in cold water. Chill 1-- qt. 1 e. cranberry! ulce and 1 c. until firm. carbonated water. Just before Unmold on lettuce. Serve 4 to 6 Into combine and with mayonnaise or other salad pour serving, Juice, Garcocktail glasses to serve nish with lime or lemon slice. Serve at once. Apple Ham Ring Then, for a main dish, theres Upside Down Apple Ham Ring. drain 1 can sliced To serve c. brown sugar. V4 apples; add Mix Yz tsp. mustard and 2 tsp. rinegar to smooth paste; add to apples. Mix well. Place In bottom of a large ring mold. Line Bottom oi Mold Beat 2 eggs, add 2 lb. ground smoked ham, Yz c. cracker crumbs and tsp. Worcestershire sauce. Stir Yz tsp. mustard Into Yz c. milk; add to ham mixture. Mix 6-- 6-- 8. 8, well. Pack Into ring mold on top of apples. Bake at 350 F, for lYz hours. Turn out upside down on itr?-ln- g platter. Fill center of moid with candied sweet potatoes and garnish with parsley and radish roses. Serve with cold slaw and hot rolls. a Jellied Fruit Salad For a fine Jellied fruit salad, soften 2 env. plain gelatin In 1 c. (Coryright, 1355, Kin dressing. Applesauce Parfalt Pie will be a real addition to any homemakers pie filling collection. KEYHOLE REPORTER a jv. , Start With Crust Starting with the crust, use either a pastry mix or make your own as follows: Sift together Vz c. flour, Y c. sugar, tsp. cinnamon and Yz tsp. salt. Cut in Yz c. shortening with 2 knives or pastry blenders. Sprinkle about Y c. cold water over mixture, lightly tossing with fork until dough Is moist enough to hold together. Form Into ball. Roll out on floured board. Fit into pie plate; make fluted edge. Bake at 425 F. 15 min. or until brown. Preparing the Filling For filling, add package lemon-flavorgelatin to 1 Yz c. boiling water; stir until dissolved. Cut 1 pint vanilla Ice cream Into fourths; add to hot gelatin mixture, stirring until ice cream has melted. Add 2 c. canned apple sauce; mix well Put filling In refrigerator until slightly set.
