Aside from ingredients, all the equipment needed is a roll ox clear cellophane, a piece of green or red crepe paper, and a small amount of cotton. The directions are given below for one large Santa, but you can make several small ones if you prefer, following the same instructions. Candy Santa Claus U cup butter or margarine teaspoon vanilla 5 cups Rice Krispies pound marshmallows (about 2 dozen) Cook butter and marshmallows over boiling water until syrupy, stirring frequently. Add vanilla; beat thoroughly. Put Rice Krispies into ' greased large bowl and pour on marshmallow mixture, stirirng briskly. When cool enough to handle, shape mixture into arms legs, head, and body, Wrap the various parts of the body in cello- Ehane and twist ends. Tie at wrists with string and then tie head to arms to neck, and so on. Use bits of date for face, crepe paper for hat, cotton to decorate hat and for buttons, and large dried prunes for shoes. Yield: 1 Santa about 10 inches tall. Make smooth paste of one tablespoon of the salt pork fat and flour, stir into soup. Continue cooking about ten minutes.
